"Credo ut intellegian"

BIOGRAPHY
St. Agustine is an Algerian Roman Philosopher, He is often considered as the "Father of orthodox theology" and the greatest of the four great father of the latin church. Aurelius Augusuis also known as St. Augustine he was born on 13'th of November yar 354 in Tagaste a provincial city of Algeria, North Africa. His father Patricius was a pagan, But his mother Monica was a devout catholic He died August 28, 430 He received christian upbringing and 370 went to the University at the Carthage to study rheotic with a view to becoming a lawyer.

Philosophy
During Augustine's Era Plato academy had undertaken radical turn toward skepticism. He rejected the epistemological by skeptics that there is no basis for claiming knowledge of our existence. In a proof to similar to one later made famous by Descartes. He pointed out "Si fallar sum" (If i am not mistaken i am) In other words, Its possible to employ the human faculties and logic to pursue significant knowledge of the world. He also adopt the subject view time and says that time is nothing in reality. He believes that time is infinite because God created it.
One of Augustine's philosophy is " CREDO UT INTELLEGIAN" which means "I believe in order that I may understand." in this philosophy , He felt that only through faith could wisdom be obtained. he saw both philosophy and religion as quest for the same thing: truth. Hence, a philosopher without faith could never attain the ultimate truth.

Analysis
His famous philosophy is that "Credo ut intellegian" that means I believe in order that i may understand. For me his philosophy means if you have faith in one thing you are able to understand it. One good example is when you're studying if you believe that you're going to pass you may pass it with a confidence. In everything you do you should have faith on it for you to achieve it. Without faith you will not attain the ultimate truth. His philosophy can be still used right in our times because sometimes some of us doesn't believe in our selves and it is the reason why most of us fail in our lives. So in everything we do we should put faith on it for us to become successful.

Conclusion
I conclude that, since St. Augustine is a priest/saint most of his philosophy talks about Christianity, God , Human will and ethics. St. Agustine affirms that the world was created by God from nothing. He believes that the soul is simple and immortal . The inttellective memory, intelligence and will. The primary among three faculties is given to the will which is man signifies love. The will of man is free.
